Greetings from the Institute

Dear WOFI Members,

I hope you’ve all had an excellent Christmas—and Happy New Year to you as well!

Lately I’ve been editing an exciting new book set to be released in 2022 by Word on Fire. The book is meant to serve as an official “launching point” for those who want to implement what Bishop Barron has called the “New Apologetics.” This renewed apologetics, he says, should cultivate new or updated approaches to questions of the existence and nature of God, faith and science, moral issues, and it should seek to integrate the humanities—literature, drama, philosophy, the fine arts—as a way to convey and argue for the truths of the Catholic faith.

I’ll tell you a little more about the book. It’s a collection of over forty new essays from many of the Church’s most skilled evangelists, apologists, philosophers, and theologians. Each essay is written with the purpose of helping each of you who serve as evangelists on the frontlines of the culture to compel your hearers to take the claims of Christ and his Church seriously. You won’t believe the world-class roster of contributors to this book when you see the table of contents for the first time!

I’m excited to tell you more, but you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer . . . Stay tuned over the next few months as we start to unveil more details about this book including the authors involved, topics covered, and the expected release date of the book!

Please keep our team in your prayers, and be assured we’re doing the same for all of you.

God bless,

Matt Nelson
