What is the Word on fire Institute?
Over the past few years, you may have heard Bishop Barron speaking of the need for a movement made up of both priests and laypeople who together share a common spirituality and possess the same vision of evangelizing the modern culture from within.
The first major step of realizing Bishop Barron’s idea of a movement is to establish a place of collective formation, training, and community online.
This “place” is the new Word on Fire Institute.
As such, the Word on Fire Institute (WOFI) exists to propagate the work and content of Bishop Robert
Barron in an interactive, relational, digital education format, and to form missionaries in the Word on Fire ethos of evangelization, emphasizing Bishop Barron's style and methods of evangelizing the religiously unaffiliated (or "nones").
What is the Word on fire movement?
While Bishop Barron’s great dream is to see an official movement, the first step that we are taking to realize such a vision is the establishment of an institute of formation to build up evangelists and connect them with like-minded individuals all over the world. The first step is to create authentic community.
Over time, we hope these online connections will evolve into personal relationships through which evangelical teams of missionary-hearted people can be formed.
Joining the Institute doesn’t mean you are joining an official movement. Rather, by joining the WOF Institute, you will receive formation in the ethos of Bishop Barron and Word on Fire to become effective evangelists in and of the culture. The Institute is the formation arm of Bishop Barron’s evangelical mission. So, anyone is welcome to join the Institute in order to receive formation. The official Word on Fire Movement is still in the works and will take a succession of events to reach.
what is unique about the word on fire institute?
What makes the WOFI different from all the rest is its distinct focus on training evangelists to preach Christ to our secular culture from within, in word and action.
We’ve now heard from a host of former, self-proclaimed “nones,” atheists, and agnostics who were jolted from their apathy after encountering Word on Fire content. That jolt, as Bishop Barron often states, is the effect of the “grab you by the lapels” quality that the Catholic faith possesses. Bishop Barron desires to express that same quality through his apostolate, and the WOFI exists precisely to form its members to evangelize in such a compelling style.
How long do I have access to these videos?
As long as you're a paying member in good standing, you have access to all the videos at the Word on Fire Institute.
However, if you decide to cancel your account, or stop paying the membership fee, you will lose access to any and all videos.
CAN I SHARE THE VIDEOS WITH OTHERS?
The Word on Fire Institute is designed for individual training, so you cannot share your login credentials with other people, share the videos online, or show the videos in a group setting.
How do i save my favorite lessons?
Great question! Just click the "Favorite" button underneath any course or lesson video to save it. Then go to your My Favorites page to view your saved content. Here's a short video tutorial:

if i cancel, will all my community posts and course progression will still be saved?
Yes. If you need to cancel your account all your community posts will still be saved.

HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD THE VIDEOS?
Unfortunately, you cannot download the videos at the Word on Fire Institute. You can only stream them through the website. However, streaming is much faster and easier, and you can watch the videos on any device, any time, wherever you have Internet access.
WHY IS THE VIDEO BLURRY?
All the videos at the Word on Fire Institute are filmed and displayed in high-quality HD. However, the video quality adjusts depending on your Internet speed and device. If a video looks blurry, there's a couple things you can try. First, try watching on a faster speed Internet connection. Second, click the "gear" icon at the bottom right of the video and increase the "Quality" value (1080p is full HD.)
How can I play the videos on my TV?
If you have a Smart TV that allows you to browse the Internet, just open up the browser, visit https://WordOnFire.institute, and start watching!
If not, you still have a couple options:
Option #1 - Connect your computer to your TV. Most newer laptops/desktops have an HDMI port, or an HDMI adaptor, that allows you to connect your computer to your TV through an HDMI cord (just like you'd connect a DVD or Blu-ray player to your TV.) Then just turn on your laptop, adjust the settings so your TV screen mirrors what's on your computer screen, go to ClaritasU.com, and voila! You can now see everything on your TV.
Option #2 - Purchase a Google Chromecast device ($35) which plugs into your TV, connects to the wireless Internet, and allows you to "cast" anything from the Google Chrome browser on your computer, phone, or tablet to your TV. In other words, it's similar to Option #1 except you don't have to connect your computer to your TV with an HDMI cord--the data streams from your device to your TV over the wireless Internet. I used the Word on Fire Digital app on my APPLE device to get an All-Access Pass digital subscription, but now I'm switching to the Institute. How can I get a refund for the month I had just paid for?
Our system cannot refund payments made through iOS devices, but we can give you a one-month credit of an Institute payment to recuperate the difference. Simply email email@example.com to request this, and we will be glad to set this up for you!
How do i update my credit card?
You can update it on the My Account page. Just look for the big orange "Update Card" button. Here's a quick video tutorial:
how can i cancel my membership?
Oh, no! We're sorry to hear you want to cancel. If you're just having tech problems or specific issues, please reach out to our Support team and we'd love to help. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org
Before cancelling, you'll want to keep a couple things in mind. First, if you cancel, you will no longer have access to any of the videos, courses, or resources at the Word on Fire Institute. You'll also lose access to all the videos on the Word on Fire Digital platform. In other words, you'll lose access to everything.
Second, as we continue adding new videos and courses, the subscription cost will likely rise for new members. That means if you decide to rejoin the Word on Fire Institute in the future, you will pay a higher monthly fee than you're paying now. By joining the Word on Fire Institute early, you locked in a great low subscription rate, and you'll keep that as long as you're an active member. But if you leave and come back later, you'll have to rejoin at the higher rate.
With those things in mind, if you'd still like to cancel, just email email@example.com and let us know you'd like to close down your account, and we'd be happy to do that for you. Thanks!
